For venues, organisers and advertisers

Venue terms

Version 1.0 · September 2026 · Direct Intent Ltd

These terms are for anyone who lists, manages or advertises a venue, night or collective on Seloa. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy (Site tab). If you use the Seloa app as an individual, the Terms and Conditions apply to that.

1. Who we are, and when these apply

Seloa is operated by Direct Intent Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 17192725), registered office 66 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NA (“we”, “us”). These terms apply when you accept an invitation to manage a venue on Seloa, sign in to the venue area, post an event, or buy or agree an advertisement. By doing any of those you agree to them on behalf of yourself and, if you act for a business or organisation, on its behalf. Please only do so if you have the authority.

2. Listings

We list venues, nights and collectives in our directory and in the app. We usually add a venue ourselves, using information that the business has made public or has told us, before anyone at the venue has an account. Listing a venue is not an endorsement, and it does not mean the venue has agreed to these terms until someone takes it over.

If a listing is wrong, or you want it changed or taken down, email hello@seloa.app and we will sort it out. We may correct, update or remove any listing at any time, for example if it is inaccurate or the venue closes.

3. Taking over a venue

  • We may invite you to take over a listing by email. The invitation link is tied to one email address, expires, and can be cancelled or replaced by us at any time. To use it you sign in with that address.
  • Taking over makes you an owner of the venue. Owners can invite managers and workers, edit the venue's details and post events. Managers can edit and post; workers have limited access.
  • You are responsible for who you invite and for what is done under your venue's account. Keep your email account secure; there is no password, so access to your inbox is access to the venue.
  • If an owner leaves or loses access, we can add or remove an owner after checking with the venue. We may do this to protect the venue or other users.

4. What you post

When you post an event or edit your listing you confirm that:

  • it is accurate and up to date, including dates, times, address and any ticket link;
  • you have the right to use the words, photos and links you give us, and you give us permission to display them on Seloa and the app for as long as the listing is live;
  • it is not hateful, discriminatory, harassing, misleading, unlawful or spam, and it does not target or expose anyone; and
  • you will keep it current, and cancel an event that is no longer happening.

Seloa is a queer-first space. People can report the wording of an event. We review reports, and we may cancel an event, remove content, or suspend or remove a venue, with or without notice where we think it is needed to keep people safe or the directory trustworthy. We do not tell a venue who made a report.

5. Links and numbers

The directory and the app link to your website and events page. We count taps on those links anonymously, by day, to help you see whether they are useful, and we may share summaries with you. The counts are approximate: they are taps, not people, they leave out automated visits as far as we can tell, and we do not promise any particular number of visitors. Links to your pages carry a small “from Seloa” tag so you can see the visit came from us.

6. Advertising

  • Sponsored slots in our roundup are agreed by hand. We decide who we accept and may decline or remove an advertiser for any reason, including anything that does not fit a queer-first space.
  • Every paid slot is labelled “Advertisement” and its link is marked as sponsored. We will not present an advertisement as editorial content.
  • You are responsible for your advertisement following the law and advertising rules (including the UK Advertising Codes), and for having the right to everything in it.
  • Price, dates and wording are agreed in writing before anything runs. We do not promise any result from an advertisement.

7. Cost, and payments

Listing and managing a venue on Seloa is currently free. Seloa does not sell tickets and does not take payments through the site or the venue area. If we ever charge for anything, we will tell you and agree it with you in writing first; nothing becomes chargeable without your agreement.

8. Your data

How we handle personal data, including venue contacts, staff logins and how we contact venues, is set out in the Site tab of our Privacy Policy. We treat every venue's contact, including a sole trader or partnership, as we would an individual. To stop hearing from us, or to ask what we hold, email privacy@seloa.app.

9. Changes and availability

Seloa is still being built. We may change, pause or stop any part of the site, the venue area or the app, and we may change these terms. For a material change we will make reasonable efforts to tell owners by email. If you keep using the venue area after a change, you accept it.

10. Our responsibility

We provide the site and the venue area as they are, and cannot promise they will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost business, lost profit or indirect loss arising from your use of Seloa, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid us in the previous twelve months (currently nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Ending

You can stop at any time: ask us to remove you, or to remove the venue's listing, at hello@seloa.app. We may end your access, or remove a listing, if you break these terms or we reasonably think it is needed to protect other people or Seloa.

12. The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
